This wine is truly old-world in style, matured for 28 months in second-and-third-fill French oak barriques. The grapes all come from a very special, low-yielding block on our farm, exhibiting classic white-pepper-and-spice aromatics. We harvested when the grapes were very ripe, accentuating the true character of the Shiraz grape. There is a definite meaty, savoury element to the wine, tied together with soft, ripe tannins on the palate.
The wine is very big and robust, but at the same time bright and fresh - showcasing our traditional winemaking practices and our focus on full-bodied, concentrated red wines with massive ageing potential. Enjoy with rich, flavourful dishes such as belly of pork or Boeuf Bourguignon.
