Established in 1718, Lammershoek is one of the oldest wine producing farms in the Swartland, with the oldest part of the cellar dating back to the mid 1800's. This is an expressive, well-structured, Swartland Syrah. Farmed dry-land, thus not irrigated. Selected from various sites on the farm, the Syrah bush vines are aged between 15-40 years. Handpicked early in the morning the grapes were hand sorted and all “under ripe” bunches were removed. The grapes were partially whole-bunch fermented and the remainder destemmed. Fermented in a vast variety of foudre’s, big French oak barrels and concrete tanks.
